Mr. Sun Knows the Time
Intermediate - two photos
Mr. Sun is a working sundial. He has an interesting background tinted with many colors and reminds us to "count only the sunny hours," a very good idea I believe! Washes and glazes bring his sunny face to the forefront.

Mikiko's Sundial
Intermediate Level --2 photos
This 10" square sundial is faux painted to look like a piece of stone or tile. There is a repetitive pattern in each corner, and the execution provides practice in floating and stoke liner work. This piece was designed for my friend Mikiko Yamazaki CDA, of Tokyo, Japan
Season's Sundial
Intermediate Level --2 photos
Season's Sundial was my first sundial. All are "working" sundials. It features a pastoral scene with the trees on the hill representing the four seasons. A dove perches atop the bee skep, and the familiar words from Ecclesiastes reminds us that "this too shall pass" as well as time.
Time for Angels
Intermediate to advanced level. Three photos
This working sundial is done almost exclusively in drybrush, working up from darker colors. It also uses a lot iridescent color, gold, and pearl white, so it is very "shimmery!" Unfortunately, the metallic tones do not photograph so you'll have to imagine them.
